This is heartbreaking. Praying for this family and all their needs.

There are some stories that just knock the wind clean out of you. This is one of them.

A Pine Belt family that was already walking through one of life’s hardest roads has now suffered another unimaginable heartbreak.

Thirty six year old Rachael Floyd lost her life Monday afternoon after floodwaters swept the vehicle she was driving into a culvert in Petal during the heavy rains.

Before it happened, she had taken her three little boys to her mama’s house so they would be safe and still have their car seats. Then she left in her mother’s vehicle, the same one involved in the tragedy.

Now behind her is a husband fighting an aggressive brain cancer diagnosis and three baby boys who still need their mama. Joshua is only 4. Gilead is 2. Little Mayhew is just 1 year old.

Her husband Ben is known around the Pine Belt as somebody who spent his life helping carry other people through hard times. Folks say he never met a stranger and never made anybody feel invisible.

And now this family that has already been carrying such a heavy cross is facing a kind of heartbreak most of us cannot even imagine.

Please keep the Floyd family wrapped tight in your prayers tonight. Life can change in the blink of an eye, and sometimes there just are not words big enough for this kind of sorrow.
