🎨 Painting with Purpose 💜💚

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Oak Grove Community Closet’s first fundraiser this Sunday!

We had a wonderful afternoon filled with creativity, laughter, fellowship, and community support while raising funds for the future growth of Oak Grove Community Closet and our mission of serving families throughout the Northern Neck and surrounding communities.

Just look at these amazing creations! We loved seeing everyone’s creativity shine and hope you had as much fun as we did. The best part is that no experience is needed just come ready to have fun and create something beautiful.
Chewy and her team is great. She shows you step by step at her little desk on the tv and speaker but also walks around to ensure everyone is going great. You literaly can’t mess up. Super cool and so much fun!

Now let’s make our next fundraiser even bigger! Our next paint party is July 25th, and we are working to fill all 30 seats. Grab your friends, family members, coworkers, or neighbors and join us for an afternoon of fun while supporting a great cause.

💜 Every Donation Has a Purpose 💚

One of the questions we get asked most often is, “What happens to the clothing and shoes donated to Oak Grove Community Closet?”

Through our Recycle • Refresh
• Re-Bless Program, donations are carefully sorted and prepared by our volunteer team before being distributed through our FREE Community Closet events, Food Pantry Pop-Ups, and our partner referral-based Emergency Closet Program for families facing unexpected crises and emergencies.

This program was created to give families a simple way to recycle clothing and shoes they have outgrown while helping others in the community. Our services are open to everyone, and every donation received goes right back into serving local families throughout our communities. Whether you’re donating, shopping, or simply passing along items you no longer need, you’re helping a neighbor, friend, coworker, or family member.

Due to limited storage space, we do not collect year-round and only accept donations during designated collection periods, which are always announced on our page.

When collections are open, we accept gently used and new-condition clothing and shoes that are clean and free of holes, rips, stains, excessive pet hair, and strong odors.

We also encourage families who attend our events to pass along items they no longer need or can no longer use so they can continue blessing others. This program is made possible through generous community donations and was created to help families recycle, refresh, and re-bless clothing and shoes within our local communities. We respectfully ask that items received through this program not be resold, but instead re-blessed to a friend, neighbor, family member, or someone you know who may need them, or passed along so they can continue helping others.

💜 Support The Mother’s Heart Partnership Collection- June 7-22 only! 💚

We are thrilled to partner with The Mother's Heart, a nonprofit pregnancy resource center in Warsaw, VA, to help provide much-needed clothing for the families they serve.

From June 7–22, we will be collecting the specific items requested by their team. We kindly ask that during this special collection, only the items listed below be donated.

Current Needs:
👕 Boys Clothing (12 Months–3T) – All Seasons
👗 Girls Clothing (Preemie–3T) – Summer Only

Donation Guidelines:
✔️ Gently used or like-new condition only
✔️ No rips, holes, stains, pet hair, or heavy odors
✔️ Place donations in plastic bags (grocery bags, white kitchen bags, or black trash bags)
✔️ Label the outside of the bag with the contents if possible

Please help us make this collection a success by donating only the requested items during this two-week drive.
