At least the city and county didn't insult us by cleaning up the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail South for "Bike to Work Day."

My report:
1. Apparently the junkies and dealers have been told not to gather under Tejon Street. Instead everyone is lurking on the trail immediately before and after the underpass.
2. Machetes are the weapon of choice this summer, so gear up with padded clothing.

Warning: someone at the site just north of the 26.5 marker was shooting an air rifle or bb gun across the trail.

All reports and safety requests have been ignored.

June 2024 pikes peak greenway news:

Tejon street underpass is almost completely unusable. It is blocked by junkies and dealers 9 out of 10 days.

The Nevada Avenue underpass is filled with garbage. Watch out for tire hazards and the occasional person laying on the trail.

Choose alternate routes!!!

All requests for safety are ignored.

Despite the supposed addition of new enforcement, Pikes Peak Greenway trail south remains lawless and much more deadly than 2023.

This shooting happend above the trail. The "alternative route" when it is too dangerous to stay on the trail.

6:30 am, 4/30/2024 --- trail impassable under Tejon bridge due to drug dealing and use. --- literally blocked by people.

Weird how there was a shooting this past Sunday --- and nothing is being done.

Pikes Peak Greenway Trail - SOUTH - is outdoing itself this June.
This is above the trail and my suggestion as a route when the trail is too hazardous.

The drug dealers on the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail, South, are practicing their bladesmsnship this spring. Lookout for machetes and other large edged weapons.

I've also seen several expandable batons.
