This moment felt bigger than soccer.

When they opened that Haitian flag in the stadium, I felt God in it. After everything Haiti has been through, to see our people come together, to see our players fight, to see our flag on the world stage again… that felt like grace.

We didn’t get the result we wanted. Morocco won 4 to 2. But Haiti scored 2, fought with pride, and gave us a moment we will never forget.

Sometimes God gives you a victory that doesn’t show on the scoreboard.

What made this even worse is that this appeared to come from a misunderstanding, yet instead of handling it professionally and protecting guests, the situation turned into intimidation and harassment. As paying guests, we should never feel unsafe inside our own hotel room in the middle of the night.

We didn’t leave with the win… but we left with pride. 🇭🇹 We didn’t get the result we wanted, but today Haiti gave us a moment we’ll never forget. The flag, the fans, the energy, the fight, the pride… this was bigger than football.

Haiti scored two against Morocco and reminded the world that even through hardship, we still show up, we still stand together, and we still represent.

52 years later, Haiti was back on the World Cup stage. Proud of our players. Proud of our people. Proud to be Haitian.
