Do to a death in the family, we will have modified hours for Sunday and Monday so that everyone who is in our Gallerie 143 family can be in attendance if they would like.

Kenneth Eugene “Daddy O” McClure, 86, of Salem, AL died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM (EST) on Monday, August 31, 2026, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Railroad Chaplain Larkin Trainham officiating. The Railroad Club will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in Newsome Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. McClure was born on December 07, 1939, in Columbus, GA, son of the late DeWitt Andrew McClure, Sr. and Agnes Newsome McClure. He had retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as an engineer after 39 years of service. “Daddy O” as he was known by friends and family, loved bluegrass music. He enjoyed listening to music and playing the guitar and strum stick as well. Mr. McClure was also known as the “Fireman” as he cut many a cord of firewood to provide to friends and neighbors as a gift. In his younger days he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and even won a dirt bike race or two.
Daddy O spent many peaceful hours on his porch enjoying the hummingbirds and his faithful companions, Fluffy the dog and Ms. Kitty the cat.
Preceded in death by his parents, DeWitt and Agnes McClure; his wife, Kathleen Mary Foley McClure; siblings, Peggy McClure, Doris McClure Taft and Dewitt Andrew McClure, Jr; a grandson, Michael Kaleb McClure.
Survivors include his children, Margaret Leah Adams and husband Andrew, Lisa Diann Tadlock, Joseph Eugene McClure, Bonny Howell and husband David, Karl McClure, and Alan McClure and wife Donna; sisters, Patricia Smith and Diann Cannon; brothers, Charles McClure (Kathy), Dennis McClure (Alice) and Joseph “Red” McClure; grandchildren, Zachary Tadlock and his wife, Tiffany, Matthew Woodsworth, Gabrielle McClure, Taylor Eaton, and Erin Howell; great grandchildren, Coldin Howell and Raelynn Tadlock; a host of nieces, nephews, numerous extended family members, and many caring friends.
