Screen print, DTF or embroidery? It's the first question on almost every apparel order, so here's the short version.

Screen print: ink pushed through a screen into the fabric. Best for bold logos and runs of 24 or more. DTF: your design printed on film and heat-pressed on. Full color, photos, any quantity. Embroidery: stitched thread. Hats, polos and jackets that should feel premium. From 12 pieces.

Not sure which fits your artwork? Send it over and we'll tell you which one, and why. Our quote form is linked in our profile.

Great day at the Clintonville Farmers Market. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the tent, and to Common Greens for a great market.

Missed it? Surf Ohio hats, tees and more are online anytime. The shop address is on the photo.

Printer Dictionary, word one: bleed.

Bleed is the extra artwork that runs past the cut line, usually 1/8 inch on every side. It gets trimmed off. You'll never see it.

So why do we ask for it? Cutters shift a hair on every stack. Without bleed, a card that should be color edge to edge comes back with a thin white sliver on one side.

Two more lines to know: trim is where the blade lands, and the safe zone sits 1/8 inch inside it. Keep your text in the safe zone and nothing important gets cut.

Save this for the next time a printer asks you for bleed.

Tomorrow morning we're at the Clintonville Farmers Market with all three of our brands: Traxler Graphics, Surf Ohio and Current Fruitions.

Stop by to shop and save. We've got deals on retail, and our print samples are on the table, so come see and feel them in person.

2010: I started printing in my apartment basement. Over the next decade Traxler Printing grew into a 55,000-square-foot production facility in Columbus with 35+ Ohio employees, built on $0 in ads.

In 2020 I closed it.

Traxler Graphics is the rebuild: a design studio networked with production facilities. Same 20 years of print know-how, with every job matched to the right press. One contact. One standard.

New website. More services. One big mission.

When you support Traxler Graphics LLC, you are supporting a local career-tech teacher—me.

Every dollar you spend with my business helps me continue doing the work I love in the classroom. Teaching is my passion, but my design and print business helps cover the bills that teaching alone does not.

The best part of my job is helping young people become Adobe Certified Professionals in Visual Design while teaching them how to turn their creativity into real income through professional-quality design and print.

My students compete in professional design and printing competitions—and continue to break records. We publish books featuring their work, create fundraisers, develop brands, produce real projects for clients, and build skills that can change their futures.

When you hire Traxler Graphics, you are not only supporting a local small business. You are helping me continue investing in the next generation of designers, creators, printers, and entrepreneurs.

Take a look at the new site and everything I have to offer.

Thanks,
Zach
