The event honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was truly special and deeply moving. A beautiful reminder that the work is not done. Each of us must continue to do our part by loving, supporting, and uplifting our community.

I’m incredibly grateful to have attended alongside a couple of our Summer Spotlight students. Seeing them actively engaged in the community fills my heart and reminds me exactly why we do this work. I’m so excited to expand our programming this year, with some exciting announcements coming soon.
Thank you to the , for all you do to bring community together. S/O the for hosting such an impactful event. The performance by the was stunning, and the voices of the Central State University Chorus were absolutely magnificent.
It was also a joy to see Congresswoman always delivering motivation with purpose and the most fashionable congresswoman might I add.

Overall, an amazing event as we continue to do our part to carry forward Dr. King’s dream through service, creativity, and youth-centered programming. This work is truly “He(ART)s Aligned”

Meet Lindsey Drahos — the heart behind He(ART)s Aligned and the creative force leading our newest initiative, the Summer Spotlight: Step Into Your Light!, Summer Youth Program! 💡🎭🎨👗

With a fashion career that started at Saks Fifth Avenue working with iconic brands like Christian Louboutin and Fendi, Lindsey shifted her focus in 2020 to community impact. She launched hosful Collective Boutique — a space dedicated to uplifting local artists, designers, and entrepreneurs, earning recognition from Columbus CEO, The Dispatch, Franklin County Commissioner and more

Now, she’s channeling that same passion into the next generation. As Program Coordinator, Lindsey designed this one-of-a-kind youth experience to spark confidence, creativity, and future business leaders through fashion, art, and comedy.

She’s not just building a program — she’s paving the way. 💫

🎨✨ Meet Miki Gotoh – our incredible Assistant Program Coordinator for The Summer Spotlight: Step Into Your Light!

A true “Juniko” of all trades, Miki brings a powerful blend of creativity and precision to everything she does. With a background in fashion, finance, and educational administration, she wears many hats—renovating homes, curating art shows, managing a young adult improv group, and supporting youth through the arts.

Deeply rooted in philanthropy, Miki led a creative initiative called AI for Fashion in 2011 to raise funds for victims of the tsunami in Japan. She was also one of the first featured artists in He(ART)s Aligned’s Hondo for $100 art show, and now brings that same heart and leadership back to guide our summer program.

Miki will be working closely with our team to oversee the entire program and support day-to-day operations. She’s here for our youth, families, and volunteers—so if you have any questions or concerns throughout the program, don’t hesitate to reach out to her directly. We’re so lucky to have her on board!

We are thrilled to welcome the Hot Mess himself, Jesse Pimpinella, as a special guest for our Comedy Cohort at The Summer Spotlight! A dynamic force in stand-up comedy, Jesse brings with him a whirlwind of hilarity, heart, and a genuine passion for connecting with audiences of all ages.

Touring nationwide, Jesse is known for his signature blend of storytelling, pop culture wit, and lovable chaos—turning awkward encounters and everyday missteps into comedy gold. His relatable and high-energy performances have landed him features on Amazon Prime, iHeartRadio, and Roku TV.

But what truly sets Jesse apart—and why we’re so excited to have him join our youth—is his work with Good Medicine Productions, where he uses comedy to bring healing and joy to children in hospitals across the country. His dedication to uplifting young people through laughter aligns perfectly with the mission of The Summer Spotlight—to nurture creativity, confidence, and emotional wellness through the arts.

Jesse’s comedy specials, Hot Mess and Spooky, are streaming now on Roku TV and Fawesome, with both album versions reaching #1 on Amazon. Whether he’s on stage at a sold-out theater or sharing jokes in a hospital room, Jesse Pimpinella leads with heart, humor, and a deep belief in the power of laughter.

Introducing Joseph Moorer — improv master, creative powerhouse, and lead instructor for our Comedy Cohort Improv Workshop! 🎭✨

For 25 years, Joe has been lighting up Columbus stages with his charisma, quick wit, and feel-good energy. You may know him from The Conspiracy Band, but he wears many hats — from hosting game shows to cracking jokes to writing video game reviews. 🎮

Joe is also the creator of , a young adult improv group dedicated to helping emerging performers evolve, build confidence, and own their voice through comedy and storytelling. He also founded , a comedy collective focused on uplifting diverse voices in improv and stand-up.

Joe’s passion lies in teaching the next generation how to shine on stage — and trust us, this workshop is gonna be one for the books. 📚💥
