While trying to find the bathroom at an event, Scott decided to call a Be My Eyes volunteer using his Meta glasses for a little help.

Turns out, he didn’t need the call.

Before he knew it, five grown men were giving him directions and personally bringing him to the stall.

At the time? Super embarrassing.

Now? Absolutely hilarious.

What started as reaching for a free Costco meatball turned into one of our favorite Eyece Breaker stories… and probably the greatest day of his guide dog’s life. 🦮😂 Now it’s a shirt that Anthony and others can wear to share his story, spark conversations, and share a laugh wherever they go.

Recently, I had the privilege of representing RPC | Vision Loss Apparel at the Foundation Fighting Blindness (Foundation Fighting Blindness) Vision Connection event in Columbus.

Throughout the evening, I had the chance to meet so many incredible people, hear their stories, share what I’m building at Rare Perspective Co, and have conversations about blindness, perspective, and the experiences that connect us.

I was also invited to join the vendor panel, where I talked about how my own vision loss led me to create Rare Perspective Co and how I’m using the brand to encourage conversations that challenge assumptions, perspective, and help people see blindness differently.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth, shared your experiences, asked thoughtful questions, or simply took the time to connect. And thank you to the Foundation Fighting Blindness for bringing our community together and giving organizations like ours a chance to be part of it.

This was an incredible experience, and it’s only the beginning. 🫶

Today we celebrate freedom and independence—two words that can carry a different meaning for each of us.

For many in the blind and disability communities, independence isn’t about doing everything alone. It’s about having the opportunity, accessibility, confidence, and support to live life on our own terms.

Here’s to continuing to build a world where everyone has the freedom to pursue their goals, embrace new perspectives, and experience the independence they deserve.

As this Fourth of July comes to a close, thank you to the brave men and women who have served—and continue to serve—our country. Your sacrifice protects the freedoms that allow all of us to pursue lives of independence, opportunity, and purpose. We are forever grateful. 🇺🇸
