NO BETTER TIME THAN NOW

In honor of our guy making his long awaited debut in the tomorrow tonight, we went back and dug this one up from our archives to share a small piece of his journey leading up to where he is today.

We shot this with him back in the summer of 2023 just before he got his first call up to the UFC, which would eventually get postponed and lead to him undergoing surgery for the treatment of Moyamoya – a blocked artery in his brain.

Looking back from when we first Josiah, to the hardships he faced and overcame to get where he is today, we couldn’t be more proud of what he’s accomplished both inside the cage as he’s fought his way back to where he belongs and outside for all he does to give back to those around him and to the martial arts community around Central Ohio.

No matter the outcome, we will always be proud to support Josiah as much as we can throughout his journey because we’ve watched him do the same for so many around him.

We just received the unfortunate news that one of our friends and fellow training partners, Marquise Birotte (aka Marcus ), has passed away.

Marcus suffered an aneurysm this past Friday and has been on life support ever since. His family has made the tough decision to take him off tomorrow.

There will be an Honor Walk for him tomorrow in Columbus, Ohio at 2PM at Mount Carmel East hospital. If you knew Marcus and you’re in Columbus and are able to make it, you’re welcome to attend and show your support to honor Marcus.

Marcus loved jiu jitsu and he always showed his support for our brand – always repping his gear on and off the mats. His no gi game was growing strong and you could always find him on the mats training hard and seeking advice from those around him to grow his game.

Whether if it was a flow roll or going head to head in a heated battle, you were always in for a fun training session with him.

We’ll miss you, Marcus. 💔

PS – we believe the family is working to set up a gofund me to help with hospital bills and funeral expenses. Once that happens we’ll add it to this post and share it via story for anyone who would like to help out and show support.
