Our home is a place of refuge, the place I never want to take for granted.

I have never been one to follow all the trends that come and go. Although I like to stay “up to date” with a few new things from time to time, my real love has always been staying with classic timeless pieces that stand the test of time and are still relevant after living in our home for almost 22 years. By choosing finishes, colors, and textiles that last through the years, you can create a home that stays relevant.

If you enjoy hunting for timeless pieces to style your home, come shop my booth ! You can find the location and more info by tapping the link in my bio.

Blessings,

I heard this audio recently & totally agree! 💗🌷

I like when ordinary things are beautiful…

BUT WHY?

I think it’s evidence of an effort beyond what was needed, because it’s patient & deliberate.

So it can be both practical & beautiful!

Good design has its way of making us feel happier.

Every once in a while you need something in your space which reminds you…

Care is visible & effort can be felt.

Even the simplest things deserve to be beautiful!

EXAMPLE- Like the giant vintage Webster’s dictionary I thrifted & used in my centerpiece on our dining room table. Something as ordinary as THIS rare book… can be made into a beautiful riser for an arrangement! Every piece I have styled on the center of my table is vintage thrifted treasures. I decided to try using the dictionary along with other antique books stacked to create a “tray” of sorts instead of the usual center tray I have used for quite a few years now & I am so pleased with the results!

FYI- all of the florals are from Target. Some I’ve had a couple years & some I just purchased from their recent Spring floral collections! Also, my table lamps are from Amazon!

If you are looking to find a unique vintage treasure of your own, come shop my collections in my booth ! Tap the link in my bio for the location info.

Blessings,
Alisha

I actually enjoy the month of January for more reasons than one. First, it’s a literal new year for me since my birthday is today! 🎉 (1/07)

Secondly, I always look forward to my home having a clean slate after all of the Christmas decor is taken down and put away. Yes, it’s bittersweet but it’s also a perfect time to rearrange, refresh, and feel renewed after a busy holiday season. I love the feeling when each room has been freshly cleaned and dressed for the new year.

As I transitioned my home from holiday mode into more of a winter look…I simply left the winter greenery that I used for the holiday season in place, added some other greenery, and changed out some of my living room throw pillows. This way it was an easy transition into winter decor until it’s time to move into Spring.

So, as we move forward into the new year and new beginnings…remember to embrace the things that truly make you happy in your home. Don’t be afraid to be you! My home is my happy place, the place where I can exhale when I walk in the door and know I can lay down the burdens of my day!

On another note- I read something this morning in one of my devotional readings that really spoke to me and I thought I would share!

Be.
Be still.
Be still and know.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know that I am God.

I feel like this was a WORD to me for this year…that is to BE STILL AND KNOW that He is in control of ALL THE THINGS that I worry about or try to figure out.

I hope this blesses you as it did me!

The House Dresser 2025 Recap…

Throughout the year I enjoyed the process of curating vintage and antique pieces for the booth. 2025 was an extremely busy year for my family. Different events in our lives required us to travel more than most years! Because of that, it seems that some months I barely kept my “head above water” so to speak. It was challenging for me to keep the booth refreshed and maintained but thankfully I was able to continue pursuing my dream and kept it maintained! On the business side of things, I have some exciting goals set for the New Year! I hope to curate even more unique items for my customers , expand what The House Dresser offers, and keep moving forward as a small business owner. I want to say THANK YOU to all who shopped with us in 2025! I hope to meet more of you in the shop .

I pray that I can continue to inspire you to “dress” your home with things you truly love and make your home a reflection of YOU!

I am anticipating 2026 to be a year of growth!!

Happy New Year!! 🤩🎉

Blessings,
💗 Alisha
