Here’s the 1.5-hour process of setting up the xTool Omni O1 UV printer - cut down into 23 seconds.
Our thoughts on the setup process:
It’s a LOT bigger than expected. Very heavy and you need a lot of workspace.
Make sure to remove the screws in the base BEFORE plugging in. 🤦🏻♂️
The syringe pushes on a little “button” for the ink extraction. When you’re getting it right, you can feel the button go down and the pressure on the syringe trying to draw it back down. It’s not as scary as I had built it up to be.
The cat magnet is the test print from the O1.
My yellow seems to be a bit dark. Not sure why. It’s not very vibrant. Was dark during extraction.
Scanning is a lot faster than our other UV.
It took 34% of the UV-W ink out of the cartridge in the setup (most is in the lines). 18% of the FW and RW was taken from the cartridge. See image at end.
We will be making a lot of B2B items with this, tumblers, tabletop signs, magnets, coasters, pens, and more. There’s actually a lengthy list of items we will make combining this UV printer with our xTool lasers.
