Happy Saturday Boo-Tique family!

Today's collective reading is all about healing. Take what resonates and leave the rest 💜

First we have ✨️The Star✨️

The Star is a major arcana card. The majors are our soul lessons and the minors are how we integrate those lessons into our daily lives.
The star is about healing after a tumultuous time, getting back to yourself after a period of neglect, finally feeling hope after a tower moment (The Tower in tarot is when everything falls apart and crumbles around you so that you can start over. The old ways of thinking and living are now done). The Star is when you start over with fresh perspective, and begin the journey again with the knowledge you gained from all you've been through.

The integration 🍷Six of cups reversed 🍷

You integrate The Star here by doing the work to move through the emotions that make you feel like you are trapped in a loop. You must work through that cycle of emotions to aid in your healing journey. You may be feeling stuck in your past and unable to move on emotionally from the situation, but know that it is integral to the healing process to unpack these emotions and start the work. Shadow work could be needed to help you move on.

Where you are headed 🍸King of Cups🍸

You evolve in your healing journey through the mastery of your emotions. You come the ruler, the sovereign over your own heart, and emotions. This is the moment you finally put lingering fears, doubts, self sabotage, anger, grief, sadness to bed. The situation feels less heavy emotionally because you have done the work to overcome the cycle. You have balanced your mind and heart and may even be able to counsel others who are going through similar circumstances. It could also mean that you are on a path to meet someone who offers you emotional safety and counsel to help you through your healing.

Have a great weekend,
Alyssa 🔮

I wasn't even gonna post about this today but DAMN! All I'm seeing on my feed today is talk about this 8/8 Lion's Gate Portal.

Honestly? If you want to work with it, celebrate it, meditate on it, manifest with it, or do all the fluffy s**t that comes along with it — great. Do your thing. I'm not here to tell anyone what they should or shouldn't practice.

But I really wish people would be honest about where this stuff actually comes from.

The Lion's Gate Portal is New Age. It is not ancient. It isn't some lost Egyptian tradition that has been practiced for thousands of years. It isn't even a relatively old occult tradition. The specific idea of the whole 8/8 Lion's Gate Portal is a modern construction that emerged in New Age and modern esoteric circles in the late 20th century.

That doesn't make it bad. It doesn't make it meaningless. And it certainly doesn't mean you can't practice it.

It just means know what the f**k you're practicing. Because there are genuinely ancient pieces that have been folded into this modern concept.

Sirius is old. Very old.

Leo is old, too.

Ancient Egyptians absolutely had significant astronomical and religious relationships with Sirius, particularly its heliacal rising. The constellation Leo has ancient roots as well.

But here's where things get interesting:

The Gregorian calendar is what gives us August 8 as “8/8.” Ancient Egyptians obviously weren't looking at a Gregorian calendar and going:

“Holy s**t, it's eight-eight. Open the cosmic gateway.”

😂

The modern Lion's Gate story takes ancient astronomical symbolism, astrology, numerology, and modern New Age ideas about energy portals and manifestation and mushes them into something that sounds ancient.

It isn't.

And even the astronomy doesn't quite work the way the social-media version makes it sound.

Sirius does not magically line up with everything on August 8 every year in some ancient cosmic event. The heliacal rising of Sirius varies depending on latitude and historical era. It isn't universally August 8.

That part tends to disappear somewhere between the historical research and the Instagram graphic.

So again: If Lion's Gate is meaningful to you, f**king go for it.

I'm not criticizing anyone for practicing it. I'm criticizing the bulls**t history being attached to it.

Not everything that looks ancient on a TikTok graphic actually is.

Let's talk about plants & herbs~
✨🌾 Asfoetida 🌾✨

Asafoetida—famously known as "devil's dung" or hing—is a pungent resin from the Ferula plant.
In magical and spiritual traditions, it is a potent protective agent. It is widely used to banish heavy negativity, break hexes or curses, and repel unwanted or malicious spirits through its intense, sulfurous aroma.
Core Magickal Uses✨
Banishing & Warding*
Used in aggressive protection spells to clear out dark entities, psychic debris, or energetic parasites.
Breaking Curses*
Employed to reverse jinxes, hexes, and cross-conditions sent by enemies.
Purification*
Burned in tiny amounts or used in liquid form to cleanse sacred spaces and create fierce energetic boundaries.
Grounding*
Despite its aggressive smell, its heavy, earthy vibration helps ground scattered or unmoored mental energy.
Practical Safety & Handling✨
Potency*
The raw scent is intensely sulfurous and putrid; only a tiny pinch or diluted liquid form is required for ritual work.
Application*
Practitioners often favor liquid or resin chunks for anointing thresholds or protective amulets rather than indoor burning, due to the overwhelming odor.

Let's talk about - Native American
Folklore ~ ✨Sky Peoples✨

In Native American traditions, the terms "Sky People," "Star People," or "Above People" refer to a diverse group of celestial spirit beings, sacred ancestors, and creators that occupy the realm above the earth.
Rather than a single unified myth, different Indigenous nations hold their own distinct and deeply respected sacred histories regarding these celestial connections.
The Haudenosaunee (Iroquois)✨
Creation of "Sky World"In the creation histories of the Haudenosaunee Alliance (Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, and Tuscarora), the original humans lived in a peaceful, luminous realm above the clouds known as the Sky World.
The Fall of Sky Woman*
A celestial woman, often called Sky Woman (Ataensic), fell through a gaping hole left by an uprooted sacred tree.
The Creation of Turtle Island*
As she tumbled toward an endless water world below, birds caught her, and a turtle offered its back as a resting place. A humble muskrat dove deep to retrieve mud, which Sky Woman spread across the turtle's shell, creating North America, or Turtle Island.
The Blackfoot "Above People"✨ (Sspommitapiiksi)For the Blackfoot Nation, the Sspommitapiiksi (Above People) were the very first creations of the supreme creator, Apistotoke.
Celestial Society*
These figures are personified as the Sun (Natosi), his wife the Moon (Komorkis), and their son, the Morning Star.
Ancestral Law*
They are believed to live in their own perfectly ordered society above the clouds, serving as the ultimate guardians of human behavior, universal order, and traditional ceremonies.
Star Ancestry and the Pleiades✨
Many Indigenous nations share a spiritual belief that their ancestors directly originated from or traveled to the stars.
The Hopi and Cherokee*
Both cultures share oral histories linking their ancestral origins to Chuhukon (the Pleiades star cluster).
The Cree*
Traditional stories dictate that Cree ancestors initially arrived on Earth as disembodied spirits directly from the constellations.
The Lakota*
Lakota star knowledge holds that every child is born with a spirit from a star (wanagi).
Upon passing, that spirit travels down the Wanagi Tacanku (the Spirit Trail, known commonly as the Milky Way) to reunite with their ancestors.

Many modern Native Americans, Spiritualists & Paranormal Researchers believe that the ancestors were referring to 'beings' we now call extraterrestrial 👽 when speaking on the folklore & traditions.
There remain many locations across the Americas that ancient natives deem sacred still today, sites that continue to be mysterious & where documented paranormal occurrences still occur regularly. They believe these sites & places were 'home' to these beings while visiting Earth & still hold reverence & ceremonies to honor them & the power or energies these sites hold.
A few examples of these sites are~
Devils Tower, Wyoming
Superstition Mountains, Arizona
Skinwalker Ranch, Utah
