Whops, my experience with:
What I did wrong when applying mold killer!
The weather is not great for refinishing. Its too cold and damp. I forgot it was important to let a piece drying to have airflow. Last night I closed the storm door and basically made a home for mold to grow. The dor was damp when I closed the door. This morning I woke up to mold! Mold naturally occurs in wood and when given the right habitat it grows. I applied concrobium but neglected to make sure the surface was dry. This means on contact with a wet surface the cincrobium dillutes and will not kill the spores. So now I have a fan facing the door trying to dry it out before reapplying. Once reapplied I'll need to reapply the concrobium and then let the concrobium dry fully before it can be considered dead. Then ill need to remove any visible mold. See video for more info!

My awareness to mold in wood rot has grown this past month! I have a big project in my future!
I've never really thought about the black discoloration on part of or wood window until recently. It's not fuzzy in appearance and does not feel soft. Having a baby running around got me googling! I found out wood rot is a fungus. I thought well duh! But since its dry I assumed it was dead fungai, however I now know the spores remain. Why was this not caught during our house inspection?
