Did you know individuals and businesses are protected from liability by federal law when they donate food to a qualified non-profit like Coopersville Cares?

They cannot be sued for anything that might happen, and that protection exists to encourage people and manufacturers to donate items that would otherwise end up in the trash so that we can close the gap between the food our neighbors have and the food they need.

If you hear someone suggest they can't donate perfectly good (and even "expired"!) food otherwise destined for the garbage, help us spread the truth about donor protections and keep that food out of the landfill.

One week from today!
Join our friends at Ottawa County for a workshop for veterans and their families to learn how to walk through the Veterans Administration Claims Process. The Vet Services folks at the county are incredibly dedicated to helping vets access the programs they qualify for. Plus, snacks!

USDA Foods from the TEFAP program will be available ️

at Church of the Saviour. 180 68th Ave N, Coopersville.

The menu includes: milk, grape juice, peanut butter, farina, pinto beans, beef stew, tomato sauce, applesauce, and kidney beans.

Income, residency, and family size are self-declared. To receive food, households regardless of age, should either be: at or below the income level listed below OR should participate in an income based food program (such as CSFP, WIC, FIP (cash assistance), or SNAP (bridge card)).

1- $46,950 2- $63,450 3- $79,950 4- $60,000 5- $96,450 6-$112,950

Time for some info on where to find additional food resources now that the kids will be home trying to eat everything in sight. Multiple resources can be accessed simultaneously. If you need additional help navigating the summer ahead feeding the little gremlins, let us know!
