White designs arenā€™t requested often and yes white fabric looks clean, simple, effortless.
But Shugaā€¦ā€¦..itā€™s the most unforgiving thing you can put your hands on. When I sew thereā€™s No makeup, No lip gloss. No touching my face then touching the fabric. Iā€™m wiping my hands constantly.

Iā€™m watching where the fabric falls every second, checking my iron, ironing board and tools. Everything has to be spotless.
Because one markā€¦ one smudgeā€¦ one slipā€¦ and itā€™s over!

Yet yaā€™ll be hollering ā€œItā€™s just a simple white dress.ā€ But nothing about this process is simple. Which is why how itā€™s made and who makes it matters.

Hitting the stage at my 2025 fashion show you see bold, colorful, fun. I hit the stage at this 2026 fashion show, sleek, controlled and refined. Both are me, however, I choose how I want to be perceived.

I can walk into a room and be soft. I can walk into a room and be powerful, or can walk into a room and be unforgettable. I donā€™t do it by accident. Thatā€™s the difference between just getting dressed and understanding your image.

My question is, are you in control of what itā€™s saying?

I help women align how they look with who they are, and where theyā€™re going. So when they walk into a room, thereā€™s no confusion about their presence.

There was a time I wouldā€™ve NEVER hit the stage in all black.
Iā€™m a color girl. I like bold and bright colors.
But this night was about being intentional. Every single thing I put on had a purpose:

āœ”ļøThe black - to refine my silhouette and minimize what I didnā€™t want emphasized, hello!
āœ”ļøThe monochrome - to create a sleek, elevated, clean, no distraction presence
āœ”ļøThe silver accessories - gave edge without overpowering

Whewā€¦ let me tell yā€™all something.

Every year before this pop-up shop, I get nervous. Like realā€¦ā€¦.. nervous.
The night before Iā€™m laying in bed thinking, ā€œKDā€¦ have you lost your mind!?ā€ The audacity, the nerve, the balls it takes to plan a whole event and just believe people are going to show up. But God come through every time šŸ™ŒšŸ¾

The pop-up started at 11:00 AM, and by 10:20 AM there was already a line outside the door. If you havenā€™t secured your prom dress yet, donā€™t worry there are still a few gowns available, back flip into my DM and Iā€™ll see if I can get you taken care of.

This was my third year hosting the Prom Pop-Up Shop, and every single year it gets better. Iā€™m not a business owner who has it all figured out. But what I do have is the courage to try, the willingness to fail, the willingness to learn the lesson and the boldness to get back up and do it again.

To everyone who believes in me, and cheers from the sidelinesā€¦Thank you. You probably donā€™t realize how much that belief pushes me to keep going.

I literally meet the sweetest people every year during the Prom Pop Up Shop. The girlies and their parents were awesome. Dope vendors. The event space was very nice. The best part is I let many customers name a fair price and they secured a gown šŸ¤—
