In honor of World Down Syndrome Day today, I'd like to introduce you all to Baby Grace. I had the honor of meeting her sweet mother when she asked me to make a special hairpiece for Grace. Grace was diagnosed with Down Syndrome at birth, and since then her amazing mom has done tremendous things for her daughter. After her photos were taken in the headband I had made her, Grace's mom messaged me stating that she would be honored if I would use baby Grace's photos for Avery's Knit & Stitch in order to help spread awareness of Down Syndrome and to aid in redefining the face of beauty; but I responded that it was without a doubt the opposite, and that I would actually be the one who would be honored to use baby Grace's photos. The pure beauty of this child is truely undeniable. Baby Grace, you are special, beautiful, and unique!! xoxo

I just wanted to take a moment to update all of my customers as to what is going on. As you can see from the photos our home flooded last week. I am diligently working on getting all open orders out as quickly as possible; however, unforeseen circumstances in the form of the devastating flooding in Louisiana have interfered with my normal work routine and are causing some orders to go out 1-2 days late. My etsy shop is currently set to vacation mode as we deal with repairing our home and trying to achieve some semblance of normalcy while being displaced. I am working to respond to all messages and update all customers with open orders as soon as possible. Please understand that we also have 3 small children involved in this situation who need our attention as they cope with losing their possessions and home temporarily. Thank you for your patience and understanding during our difficult time. We hope to be back up and running with lots of new things in store soon!!
