For all the history nerds like me, C-SPAN has a cool series called “America 250” that celebrates the history of our country.

Watching the episode about the restoration of Mount Vernon, President Washington’s home. I visited Mount Vernon years ago in the ‘90s. They talk about more than just the house. They talk about their life, how they lived, the workings of a plantation. The preservation director describes how they implemented preservation efforts.

I have acquired so many great treasures in the past week. Colored glass, vintage kitchenware, linens, you name it. Now here’s the bad news…all bought online so I’m at the mercy of the Memphis Post Office. Apparently we are having extremely bad weather and deliveries are delayed in transit. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Another Facebook Marketplace score. I bought 5 tables for $40. This one was from the ‘80’s, maybe 70’s. It had spindles on two sides which I sawed out to bring it more current. Painted, decoupaged and added some gold accents to kick it up!
