If you've spent much time browsing antique shops, thrift stores, or Patina's shelves, you've probably noticed that vintage PYREX is always in demand. Collectors love the colorful patterns, but it's the quality and durability that have helped these pieces stand the test of time.
Here’s how to spot it:
Vintage pieces (pre-1998) carry the logo in all capital letters: PYREX. Modern pieces, made after 1998, use a lowercase Pyrex.
That small distinction makes a big difference in durability. Vintage PYREX can go from oven to freezer and back with barely a worry about cracking, while modern Pyrex calls for a gentler hand with temperature changes.
And vintage CorningWare deserves a mention, too. These hardworking dishes were designed to go from the stovetop to the oven to the freezer, making them true kitchen staples. They're the same casseroles and baking dishes many of us remember seeing at family dinners and holiday gatherings.
