OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT- The Appalachian Trail is calling and I’m answering. I spent all of last year training and trying new gear. I’ve had 3 solo camping trips in various weather conditions. I’ve learned to hang my food and pitch my tent in under 5 minutes. I can’t say that I’m ready… but I’m as prepared as I can be. I’m looking forward to journaling my experience and posting content on my You Tube page. Thanks to everyone who continues to support me and my crazy ideas. From heels to hiking boots!

A visit to to visit kicks off the holiday season for me and my family. We have stood in line and patiently waited to tell the big man our wishes over 10 times! It’s my favorite Christmas tradition. A lot has been said about the dangers of sitting too much throughout the day—you may have even heard the saying, “sitting is the new smoking.” Certainly, I’m a huge proponent of being active, but I’m also a big advocate for mindful sitting.

When was the last time you just sat and allowed yourself to slow down? Try it! Simply be mindful of your surroundings and the present moment. Listen to the sounds around you, or pay attention to your breath. Calm your mind.

Making a little time for mindful sitting every day can help you be a more open and patient person, improve your focus, and lessen your anxiety. It has certainly helped me be a better listener in my interactions with the women I work with.
