After 6-months and over 1900 miles, I’ve decided to go home. Before choosing to I had only done 1 overnight backpacking trip about an hour from my house. I’m coming away now from hiking almost everyday an average of 8-18 miles carrying up to 40 pounds of food, water and gear. I’ve camped alone in secluded sections of the forest. I’ve relied on strangers for rides, food and hugs. I’m beyond proud of myself. It’s important to know when it’s time to stop. I’ve loved all the comments, heart emojis and encouragement. Tonight, I’ll sleep in my own bed beside the best husband and partner I could ask for.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT- The Appalachian Trail is calling and I’m answering. I spent all of last year training and trying new gear. I’ve had 3 solo camping trips in various weather conditions. I’ve learned to hang my food and pitch my tent in under 5 minutes. I can’t say that I’m ready… but I’m as prepared as I can be. I’m looking forward to journaling my experience and posting content on my You Tube page. Thanks to everyone who continues to support me and my crazy ideas. From heels to hiking boots!
