This handmade wooden magazine rack was built by a freshman in shop class during the 1951–52 school year, with the maker’s name still written on the bottom. A simple piece with more than 70 years of history and craftsmanship—exactly the kind of find I love.

What an awesome weekend at the Kane County Flea Market! ❤️

It means so much to be part of a community of small businesses that genuinely cheer each other on. Thank you to everyone who came out, shopped, chatted, and made this weekend so much fun. We appreciate every one of you!

Four years ago, I found this piece while thrifting, and for reasons I couldn’t fully explain at the time, I couldn’t leave it behind.

This artwork is created using thousands of tiny eggshell fragments, each carefully placed by hand to catch and reflect the light. Individually, they’re broken pieces. Together, they become a quiet, breathtaking scene of a solitary figure casting a net across shimmering water.

There’s something deeply hopeful about it.

Back then, I was hoping for change. Today, I’m grateful for the life I’m building—one filled with second chances, meaningful finds, and a community of people who understand that beauty can be found where others might only see what was discarded.

Maybe that’s why I love thrifting so much. Sometimes the most extraordinary things are made from broken fragments. ❤️
