There’s something special about turning onto Historic Main Street in St. Charles. The brick underfoot, the charm of the old buildings, the way the light hits the storefronts in the late afternoon. We started Under the Yellow Umbrella to be part of that feeling — a place where you can wander in with no particular plan and walk out with something you didn’t know you were looking for.

We founded this shop in July 2024 with a simple idea: give the makers, artists, and small businesses of our area a beautiful home, and give shoppers a place that felt like a real-life Etsy store you could actually touch. Two years later, we’ve grown to over 90+ local vendors across two historic storefronts — and we’d love for you to come see what’s new.

Our newer, smaller boutique on the south side of Main. Same brand, a little different feel — think curated St. Charles-themed pieces, 3D-printed novelties, and vendors who bring something a little unexpected. It’s the perfect first or second stop on a Main Street stroll, and if you haven’t been in since we opened, we saved you a spot.

We recently took some time away as a family to unplug, enjoy the outdoors, and simply be together. It was a chance to step away for a little while, enjoy the little moments, and make memories that we'll look back on for years to come.

As a family owned business, moments like these are a good reminder of why we do what we do. Family has always been at the heart of Summit's Clothing, and we're so grateful for the opportunity to build something that allows us to share that part of our lives with you.
