🍂 Fall is beginning to brew at The Apothecary!

I spent today crafting three new seasonal blends, each with its own little taste of autumn:

🧡 Harvest Hearth
A warm, caffeine-free blend of rooibos, orange peel, cinnamon, ginger, clove and rose—comforting autumn flavor in every cup.

🔥 Autumn Ember
A bold blend of black tea, hibiscus, rose hips, orange, cinnamon and ginger—bright, warming and full of flavor for those crisp fall days.

🌙 Fireside Quiet
A cozy, caffeine-free blend of oatstraw, lemon balm, chamomile, cinnamon and rose—made for quiet evenings and slow autumn nights.

Which one would you reach for first?

Hello there! As you know I also own JZ's Pub and we are going thru a transition stage. We have opened a Gaming room, increased our kitchen out put, are adding Door Dash today and lost a valued member of our team, all in the last month. I have had to close to accomplish all the necessary task associated with these endeavors. On top of being unable to stabilize my blood pressure. Sigh... the woes of an independent woman, lol. That having been said today is the LAST DAMN TIME IM CLOSED!
I think I need to hire some peeps!

CAUTION!

🌿 Not Everything You Read About Herbs Online Is Accurate 🌿

This beautiful infographic about lemon balm has been making the rounds online. While it's visually appealing, it also highlights an important lesson: a pretty graphic isn't the same thing as reliable herbal education.

As herbalists and plant lovers, we should always ask: 🍃 Where did this information come from? 📚 Is it based on traditional use, scientific research, or someone's opinion? ⚖️ Does it make claims that are stronger than the available evidence?

Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) is an incredible herb with a long history of traditional use. Research suggests it may support relaxation, mood, sleep, and digestive comfort. However, statements like "works better than NSAIDs" or presenting exact dosages and medical outcomes as settled fact require careful context and stronger evidence than many social media graphics provide.

At The Apothecary, we're committed to sharing herbal knowledge responsibly. We celebrate both traditional wisdom and modern research, while recognizing the limits of what we know. Herbs deserve respect—not hype.

When in doubt, ask questions, look for credible sources, and remember that if something sounds too good to be true, it's worth digging a little deeper.

🌿 Herb Spotlight: Skullcap 🌿

Sometimes the world asks us to go faster than we were ever meant to.

Skullcap has been treasured in traditional herbal practices for generations as a calming herb, often enjoyed as a tea or tincture to help encourage relaxation, support the nervous system, and promote a sense of calm after a long day.

Many people turn to skullcap as part of an evening ritual alongside quiet moments, a warm cup of tea, or a good book.

✨ A few traditional uses include:
🌱 Supporting a healthy response to everyday stress
🌱 Encouraging relaxation
🌱 Promoting restful evenings
🌱 Supporting overall nervous system wellness

Nature reminds us that slowing down can be just as important as moving forward.

Visit The Apothecary to learn more about herbs like skullcap and discover which botanicals may be a good fit for your wellness journey.
