At Brown's Shoe Fit Co., we talk a lot about what it means to be locally owned and rooted in community. The Brown's Shoe Fit Cedar Falls partnership with Acts of Jax is a prime example of how we like to show up for our communities.

If you're in Waterloo this Tax Free Weekend, make sure you stop in and support this great cause!

Reminder: Tax Free Weekend is THIS weekend — August 7th and 8th — and it comes with a way to give back.

For these two days only, at our Waterloo Outlet location, 10% of all sales will be donated to Acts of Jax, the fund honoring Jaxton Engstrom and his fight against Batten disease. Administered through the Waterloo Schools Foundation, Acts of Jax puts real dollars behind real acts of kindness from students and staff across our schools and community.

We saw firsthand what this cause can do back in July at the Inaugural Acts of Jax Legacy Launch & Twilight Golf Outing — a night that raised funds and, more importantly, launched something that's going to keep growing for years to come. Brown's Shoe Fit was proud to be part of it then, and we're proud to keep showing up now.

So here's the ask: get your back-to-school shoes tax-free this weekend at our Waterloo Outlet location and 10% of what you spend goes directly to Acts of Jax. Simple, easy, and it matters.
