"Deep Cuts" is a new storytelling series highlighting the people who live, work, create, and play in Deep Ellum. Each story offers a glimpse into the experiences, memories, and perspectives and help shape the neighborhood. The series will be featured in a new zine curated by the employees at our store.

In this clip, we caught up with Kim, owner and operator of Khroma Coffee Shop, to talk about her roots in Deep Ellum. Having grown up spending time in the neighborhood, we asked Kim how opening her own coffee shop has become a way to contribute to the scene and keep the spirit of Deep Ellum moving forward.

In this clip, Artist Hatziel Flores talks about learning how to channel emotional moments into art at a young age. Turning difficult experiences, feelings, and personal moments into something outside of himself to help cope.
