Another year at ESSENCE Fest, and there is truly NOTHING like it! The energy. The Black excellence. The love. The vibes. THE CULTURE. 🖤
Be proud of everything we are, because nothing compares to us… and I do mean NOTHING!
Black people, I love us DEEP. But BLACK WOMEN?! Whew. We are DOPE ASF. We are the blueprint—studied, observed, copied, imitated, and still too often marginalized. But understand this: they see our worth. They know our influence. They recognize our power.
Our beauty. Our brilliance. Our resilience. Our creativity. Our style. Our magic. Our ability to make something out of nothing and turn it into EVERYTHING.
And the LOVE and support shown to PINK LUCY every single time I come to ESSENCE Fest? It never gets old. The hugs, the excitement, the “I’ve been following you for years,” the people who recognize my work before they even recognize me, the genuine encouragement, and the women who proudly support this Black woman-owned brand—it means more than I can ever fully express. 🩷
To be loved, celebrated, and supported by my own community is something I will never take for granted. PINK LUCY exists because I had a vision, but it continues to grow because people believe in that vision, wear it proudly, share it, speak my name in rooms I’m not in, and show up for me again and again.
There is nothing like being surrounded by us, celebrating us, loving on us, and witnessing the fullness of who we are.
