I donate nicer pieces of my own and from my clients to a place in Dallas called Second Chance Treasures. These aren’t mine. I just like how they styled her!

This shop has a curated selection of second-hand clothing and lots of new items, also. Give them a visit if you’re in the area. Proceeds benefit the East Lake Pet Orphanage.

The last time I wore these heels, they killed the balls of my feet. It’s no wonder at this heel height (4”) and no toe bed support. They are now in my PoshMark closet. Size 38 if you’re interested. My handle is my first and last name.

Part of the wardrobe edit is about being honest. Are you enjoying the piece, will you wear it, does it fit into your life today? If you can’t say yes to those questions, move it out. If you’re not ready to, move it to a place where it isn’t in with your regularly worn items.

The re-worked menswear shirt is by Vonvie (formerly Partwo), a small woman-owned brand in Dallas. It is very cropped, so it works best with super high waist bottoms (or worn open like a jacket).

The jeans are selvedge denim by Imogen+Willie, a small sustainable brand out of Nashville, TN (they have an Austin, TX store).

The sandals are FitFlop, a comfortable brand, created by scientists and engineers since 2007.

Since I began slowing down my purchasing 6 years ago, my closet reflects a thoughtfulness and cohesiveness. Our wardrobes need a thoughtful approach to appear “effortless” and in step with who we are.

Yesterday, I was color blocking with neutrals. We had a rainy morning and a cooler day, so I took the chance to wear a favorite pair of barrel pants. I threw on the cropped cashmere sweater for a meeting, pulling the look together and creating a bit more professionalism.
