Some stories are bigger than the game. 🩷

What started as a simple idea for a fun, friendly mahjong tournament became something so much more meaningful.

In the wake of the devastating July 4, 2025, floods at Camp Mystic, our hearts were forever changed. And from unimaginable heartbreak came a desire to do something—to come together as a community, honor 27 precious lives, and help carry their light forward.

Today, we’re sharing the story behind Pause for a Cause, a tournament born from love, loss, friendship, and the belief that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a difference.

We invite you to swipe through and read the heartfelt words of our very own team member, who helped turn this idea into a reality. 💕

On January 30, 2027, we’ll gather around the mahjong table for something much bigger than a game, with proceeds benefiting the Heaven's 27 Foundation .

We hope you’ll join us. Whether you play, sponsor, donate, or simply help us spread the word, you are part of something special.

POV: You volunteered to host mahjong night and accidentally accepted 10 unpaid positions. 💀

Interior designer. Bartender. Caterer. Rules department. Referee. Group chat coordinator. Therapist. Entertainment director. Missing tile detective.

All you wanted was a fun little mahjong night with your girlfriends. Now you’re running a full-service hospitality operation. 😂

Thankfully, our newest PLM employee, Bobbi, has volunteered to demonstrate the many hats a mahjong host wears.

She’s really working herself to the bone over here. 💀

Mahjong hosts, what job did we forget?! 👇

Good tiles are important. Good manners? Even better.

There are the official rules of American Mahjong… and then there are the unwritten rules of being someone everyone wants at their table.

Announce your discards. Pay attention. Keep the game moving. Respect the tiles. And for the love of Mahj, let your friends play their own hands. 😂

Because the best mahjong nights aren’t just about who wins — they’re about who you’re playing with. 💗

What’s your biggest mahjong etiquette pet peeve? 👀👇

Save this for your next game night (or subtly send it to your mahjong group chat 😉).

No emergency. No crisis. Just hoping we’re on your mind the next time you decide you need another mahjong set. 😂 🩷

(Which could be any minute now.)

✨ INTRODUCING OUR PLM VENDOR SPOTLIGHT! ✨

At Peace Love Mahjong, we believe the magic of mahjong goes far beyond the tiles. It’s about community, connection, and the incredible people who bring this game to life! 💗

We’re so excited to introduce our Vendor Spotlight Series, where we’ll be celebrating hand-selected makers, creators, and small businesses who share our love for all things mahjong!

💕 First up: Meet Gabriela Treece!

Gabriela is the creator of the Gabriela Treece | Cultura Mahjong Dallas Spanish Card, a beautiful resource designed to make mahjong more accessible to Spanish-speaking players. We love her passion for bringing people together through the game we all adore!

SHOP: Find Gabriela’s Spanish Beginner Card online & in store through December 31!

🥂 PLAY: Join us Saturday, October 17, for a special Mahjong 101 en Español event, where Gabriela will be sharing her love of the game with our community!

We’re honored to kick off this series with Gabriela and can’t wait to introduce you to more incredible creators along the way.

Help us give Gabriela a BIG PLM welcome in the comments! 💗

“Wait…what does THAT mean?” 😂

Learning American Mahjong sometimes feels like learning an entirely new language. Charleston? Pung? Kong? Exposure? Dead hand?!

So consider this your Mahjong vocabulary cheat sheet.

And if you’re new to the game: ASK THE QUESTION. Every experienced player at the table once had absolutely no idea what a Charleston was either. 💗

Save this for your next game + tell us below: what Mahjong word confused you the most when you were learning? 👇

Mahjong might feel like luck at first… but the more you play, the more you realize there’s strategy behind it.

The good news? You don’t need complicated tactics to improve your game.

A few simple shifts — like paying attention to discards or sticking with one hand — can make a big difference.

What’s one strategy tip that helped you when you were learning?
