Back-to-school snack shopping at Target when you have kids with food allergies (peanut/tree nut/dairy) looks a little different around here. 😅
MadeGood is always an easy win for us. We love their granola bars and little muffin packs, and knowing they’re made without the top allergens makes packing school snacks SO much easier.
And listen… I know Oreos and Ritz aren’t exactly health food. 😂 But sometimes kids just want the same fun snacks their friends know and love, and I’m all for a little normalcy and a sweet treat every now and then. We actually prefer the gluten-free Oreos—the texture is better IMO!
For chips, we love Boulder Canyon, especially the ones cooked in olive oil. I found the avocado oil version at Target, but because avocado is one of our allergies, we usually grab the olive oil version at The Fresh Market.
⚠️ Important allergy-mom reminder: Always check the label yourself—even on products you’ve purchased before. Ingredients, facilities, and manufacturing processes can change, so what was safe for your family last time may not always be the same.
Finding allergy-friendly foods can be a whole scavenger hunt, so when we find something that works AND the kids actually like it? Into the cart it goes. 🙌
