🎨 Looking for something fun and creative to dive into this summer?
We’ve been loving the Eye Spy books — they’re a total win for curious kids (and adults too!) - and they are back in stock!!

👁️‍🗨️ Eye Spy Indigenous Art
This one takes you on a colorful journey through India’s incredible folk and tribal art traditions — like Gond, Warli, Madhubani, Pattachitra, and more. It’s full of stories, fun facts, and prompts that make kids want to draw, paint, and explore.

🖌️ Eye Spy Indian Art
Perfect for older kids, this book explores modern Indian art from pre-independence to today. It introduces you to artists like Jamini Roy and Raja Ravi Varma, and brings their styles to life with hands-on activities. Super thoughtful and engaging!

These books make art feel alive, approachable, and exciting — just the way it should be.

🌳 Week 1
📖 Prompt: Read in your favorite spot

We’re kicking off with a book that captures the quiet magic of slowing down and tuning in — A Song from Where I Live – Pin Code 678574. ✨

This stunning new arrival is perfect for a summer’s day. It invites readers to pause, look closely, and find beauty in the everyday — art in nature, songs in the air, and wonder in the simplest moments.

As you read in your favorite spot — maybe under a tree, beside a lake, or just by an open window — ask yourself:
🌿 “What soulful things make your wings shimmer?”

📚New arrival just in time for summer reading!
“From the Fish Basket” is now available in English and Kannada! 🌊🐟✨

Every morning, Meenamma arrives at Kalpana’s house with a basket full of fish. But one day, she doesn’t show up. Where is Meenamma? And what happens to the family’s dinner?

This warm, thoughtful story gently introduces children to the rhythms of daily life, community connections, and what happens when something familiar suddenly changes.

It’s also a great pick to encourage kids to read in languages other than English this summer — whether it’s their home language or one they’re learning. 💬📖

We just sent our newsletter with our curations for Holi and Ramadan book. This feedback from a customer was immediate!! We are sharing this here because we want to say that books, especially children’s books, shape perspectives, introduce cultural narratives, and often carry implicit (or explicit) messages about identity, history, and justice. Choosing, curating, and promoting books means making decisions about representation, inclusion, and the values we want to uplift. Even the act of “staying neutral” is a political stance because it upholds the status quo. We deeply appreciate your support as customers and promoters of our work! Thank you! Shukriya! Dhanyavad! Nandri! (And a thank you in all the diversity and beauty of all South Asian languages)

A legend leaves us. Ustad Zakir Hussain redefined the tabla and brought Indian classical music to the world stage. His rhythms will echo forever. 🥁✨.
After reading this book, I always wanted my daughter to watch his live performance - we were able to do just that last year when his group Shakti came to Seattle! What an unforgettable memory! His music will live forever!
