What’s up everybody! I ate so much corn, I think I got the corn sweats. You too?! Nice work, keep it up. Alright well maybe Monday we should all meet up and help out the area with a little post-party-glow-up. Corn Fest gets better every year, and that means big crowds. With that, more folks who might litter (probability says probably, it’s a numbers game) and definitely more chances for trash to sneak away unnoticed.

Uh, not on our watch! That’s because we LIKE having a nice place to live, right?! Charles at Classic Books totally abides by that logic at least and he appreciates it when we come by and help maintain that. In fact, he enjoys it so much he’ll share a book with participants and he’s giving deals to folks who want a stack.

Join us Monday, 4-7pm at Classic Books! We’ll bring the supplies, you bring the stoke. Since he closes up around 5pm, we’ll meet at 4, feel free to check out the shop before cruising the block with your tools of mass remediation. If you can’t make it before then but still care to join, FEAR NOT - our box of comics is always available to folks who help! Libraries. Book shops…you mean OG data centers? YUP. See you Monday 🤘

The last two events pulled 102 lbs of litter out of our community! Huge shoutout to everyone who pitched in to make that impact.

Over by Lowe’s, we battled toxic gas from Canada and still found trash and fossils hidden in the stones. No Shelf Life - It’s a Vibe and his crew also taught us ‘spider math.’ It’s complex stuff. 28lbs total between 3 consolidated/reinforcing bags.

Over by AMC the fields yields were 74 pounds!! We were joined by a solid group, a lot of them you might recognize from events in the past! We had a Fargo-fam full of friends put in work after their normal Monday work was done! A sizable squad of DHS Environmental Club alumni showed up and we pretty much didn’t see them til the end. They were way deep in the tall grass, flexing their experience in nature and when they came out with full bags, everybody was smiling. Hung out with Vinnie and co from Justice and Sustainability Association at NIU and we’re looking forward to helping with their conservations efforts! This event was extra rad because Lucas Englund rode copilot, put in a bunch of work picking, and managed to save energy for a 5-0 on the freshly upgraded coffin. Huge shoutout, thank you sir 🫡

This Monday! After school, after work, heck we hope you have a full day of ‘rest and digest’ - but when you’re done with those things we want to see you out here! We’ll meet at the AMC parking lot and embark from there. Litter picking is an epic quest, a tale as old as the invention of plastic. Some folks might say “the amount of litter here is not historically accurate” which makes no sense. They really Odyssey how much trash gets blown around in that commercial area. It’s right behind a shopping area, so the area gets righteously disrespected.

We’ll see you out there! No rush to be there right at 5, it’s a soft start time. Per usual we’ll be there with our full litter picking kit, so all we need is you and a high-five! (Proper attire recommended) Prizes and freebies for all participants! If you happen to have your skateboard handy, bust it out because we need some beta-testers on the new version of the coffin…

THIS POST WAS MADE WITH AI: This Saturday! Come help us clean up the area along Greenacres Dr! It’s right at the end of all the commercial shopping, so a whole lot of plastic and bags blow through here. We’ll be out there from 10-noon with the usual - a fully stocked litter picking kit, cold bevs in a cooler, and a box of comics/prizes to share with the folks who show up and help! EDIT: this post was not made with Artificial Intelligence and upon further remembering this was actually the second attempt.

They’re doing masonry work down the street. Maybe I’ve been popping in and out of that dumpster, yoinking the good ones and big pieces for the homies to build into something rad. I mean, what else ya gonna do, let them crunch these up into AGGREGATE? No.

Remember: Exercise caution if you’re dumpster diving. No really, be cautious in dumpsters and moving bricks is exercise. Stay safe out there, everybody.

WELP, the Litterpicking Meetup at Gordon Hardware went just about how we thought it would - SWIMMINGLY! Was it humid? Yes. Was there trash? Also, yes. With help from lifelong environmentalists, skaters, musicians, and artists we all joined under one big tent as friends, teaming up to Scour the Earth! Collectively gathering a total of schfifty *COUGH*, sorry - FIFTY POUNDS and putting it right where it should have been - in the correct dumpster. Thank you to our favorite hardware store for sharing your trash-coffins with us.

A new friend Mike stopped by noticing all the fun. Via REAL NON-GMO ORGANIC human interaction, we learned he used to maintain prairie lands in the Chicago area. At home he has been accumulating native plant seeds and relayed that he couldn’t get rid of them all and asked if we knew anyone who would like some. Holy smokes for real, dude? US! We can help distribute those! So everyone who was here picked through and grabbed some. Thank you, Mike, and we will help distribute the rest at future events/in daily life. 🫡. Our raffle winners recognized a valuable score right away - Cherry chose the custom-dyed Average tee and Kayla yoinked that fresh Character Skateboards beanie - gifted to us from AL, himSELF. Big shoutout to Rogue Murals & Signs who borrowed extremely precious time away from mural painting the wall to help us beautify the town EVEN more. Remember, art and artists come in all forms and mediums - whether it’s painting, skating, protecting natural ecology, or uh…driving around in a hearse bringing likeminded folks together and having fun while solving a worldwide problem.
