My sons grow two shoe sizes per summer! It felt so wasteful to buy expensive new clothes that our kids would only wear for a short time. In this beautiful corner of NE Iowa, you have to travel pretty far t

o sell or to buy used kids clothes. We saw a need here in Decorah and in the surrounding communities and decided that we could provide a solution. We want to provide an easy way to make some money on those kids clothes and gear that you don’t need any more. We’re also providing a place to find quality kids clothes and gear at reasonable prices. We’ll be buying and selling clothes, shoes, toys, strollers, sports gear, maternity wear, and more. Sort through those closets and come on in!

If you’re in need of some positive news, we’re happy to share that thanks to our amazing volunteer crew, we had a 26 foot U-Haul full of donations (estimated at 500 bags!!) go out to Marty, SD, to the mission we donate to twice a year! Shoutout to Jeff, Barb & Anne for driving them out there this past Thursday! ♥️

We love being able to provide free clothing and gear to their community every year. They always look forward to our donations and are so grateful to everyone who donates, so thank YOU for making that possible! 💖

Special thanks to Nichole for being our amazing volunteer that comes every few weeks to sort through donations, as well as Anne & Rick, Barb & Jeff, Carol, Nancy, Karlene, Jerry & Patti, Nichole, Matt & Maisie, Barb & Steve and for all your help in loading up the U-Haul! We couldn’t do it without you! 💞

This week, we’re shining a light on sweet Evelyn! She’s been working with us for about a year & she is such a joy to be around. (It was also her birthday last Saturday! 🥳) We’re so grateful to have Evelyn on our team! Here’s some fun facts about her to get to know her better! ☺️

What she enjoys about working at The Getup:
I love the people. Everyone is so patient and kind! I also love that we recycle and give clothing a new home.

Best thing she’s thrifted:
Any piece of denim. I love shopping for jeans and jean skirts at The Getup!

Go to way to recharge after a busy week:
I love to recharge with a good run or hanging out with friends.

Hidden talents, hobbies or interests:
I enjoy horseback riding and I also play the violin!

It’s the *last week* to sell us your Spring & Summer items at The Getup!

And yes, we are OPEN today, so it’s the last Monday drop off day! If you do drop off up to 25 items today, please know that it will take 2-3 weeks before you hear back from us with an offer!

We will be taking a two week buying pause from Monday, June 1st - Sunday, June 14th. That means no Monday drop offs or appointments during this time. We’ll be busy processing remaining buys, so don’t worry, there’s still plenty of Spring & Summer items hitting the racks during our pause! 🥰

When we start buying again on Monday, June 15th, we want your kid’s back to school clothes! If you do have back to school items to sell us, you can bring up to 50 items during this time. If you have adult Fall & Winter items, please continue to stick to the 25 item limit!

Make sure to check out the last slide to see the brands & styles we are looking to buy! We especially need kid’s sizes 2T - 14!

You have until Friday, May 29th to sell us your Spring & Summer items!

We’re doing things a little differently this summer. We’re taking a buying pause at the beginning of June, and then when we start buying again on June 15th, we want your back to school items!

So instead of packing away the school clothes your kid is inevitably going to grow out of over the summer, you can sell them to us this June & July and make a little extra cash!

If you’re bringing us back to school kid’s clothes, you can bring us up to 50 items per drop off during this short period of time (June 15th - July 17th).

Thanks for helping us stock up our inventory for back to school shopping in August!
