A little update ✨Hey friends! It’s been a long, long time since I’ve given a Waldie’s (the cafe) update! 🥪 🍰
No… we did not get opened last year like we had hoped. A lot has changed over the years, but one thing that hasn’t changed is that we still really, really want to do this!
Our hope is to open Waldie’s in 2027, seasonally during the fall and winter months.
As of right now, we’re thinking Waldie’s will likely be in the old post office building, aka the Schnebele Building; but would still be called Waldie’s because of the history of DC (the name of the old barber during the 1900s)
Nothing is set in stone just yet, but this is the plan as of now!
The vision for Waldie’s is a cozy little cafe serving salads, sandwiches, and daily specials, open in conjunction with the Mercantile during the fall and winter season.
And honestly… I think this plan is something that is very doable. ❤️
I’m really looking forward to seeing this little dream finally come together and hopefully bringing Waldie’s to life in 2027!
More to come as things develop. Let’s hope this is the best Christmas season we have had yet so we can make this possible. 🥰
