5 DAYS • 4 STATES • ONE VERY PACKED CAR…TWICE! 🚗

We’re finally home from a week of picking, digging and treasure hunting along the Hwy 127 Yard Sale—and y’all, we may have gotten a little carried away. 😂

We spent 5 days hitting yard sales through 4 states, hunting for antiques and vintage goodies to bring back to Funky Pumpkin. Somewhere along the way, we even detoured into Michigan to spend a day picking the US 12 Heritage Trail!

We saw some crazy things, met SO many wonderful people and found more treasures than we knew what to do with. Literally. 😳

The car got so packed that we had to make an emergency unloading stop at our friends, Relic Revival , house in Indiana, stash our first load in storage…and then head right back out and FILL IT UP AGAIN. 😂🙈

And one of our favorite surprises? We made an impromptu stop at Candlelight Antiques and actually ran into some Funky Pumpkin customers! 🎃🧡 What are the chances?!

There were barns. Fields. Garages. Tents. Back roads. A LOT of miles. A LOT of cornfields. A LOT of laughs. And more than a few times we asked ourselves, “Where exactly are we going to put THAT?”

But we made it home with a whole lot of goodies headed to the Pumpkin!

Now comes the not-so-glamorous part… unloading, cleaning, researching and pricing it all. 😅

Over year ago during Flea Across Florida, Zach and Connor walked into Funky Pumpkin as shoppers and asked about renting a booth.

I’ll admit, seeing two guys in their mid-20s, I wondered what they could possibly know about antiques. (Completely forgetting that I was only 16 when I started picking myself!) I also wondered how they planned to manage a booth from an hour and a half away.

They filled out an application and patiently waited for a space to open. But they didn’t just wait—they kept sourcing, sending me photos of new finds, sharing staging ideas, and proving how serious they were. After a couple of months, I told Chris, “These guys are serious and would be a good fit for the the shop. We need to find them a space.”

Three months later, they were moving in.

Now, a year has flown by, and honestly, it feels like they’ve been part of the Funky Pumpkin family from the very beginning.

Zach and Connor, thank you for your ambition, persistence, and the passion you bring to the Pumpkin. Happy one-year anniversary! Here’s to many more years at Funky Pumpkin. 🎉🎃❤️
