I absolutely love making these animal rag quilts! The texture and colors are just so satisfying to work with. 🎨 I find myself constantly amazed at how unique each one turns out. You can really get creative with the pattern to make more unique animal patterns and use up those fabric scraps. 🐄🦄🐢 It’s such a rewarding and cozy quilt!

There are moments in my sewing room that never get easier.
One of them is making the very first cut into a loved one's shirt.
I know to most people it's just fabric. But to the family who trusted me with it, it's so much more. It might still smell like Dad's cologne, remind them of Grandpa's hugs, or bring back memories of Mom cheering at every ballgame.
Before I pick up my scissors, I always pause for a second and say a prayer. I think about the person who wore that shirt and the family waiting for something they can hold close again.
Every stitch I sew carries that responsibility.
That's why I'll never rush a memory bear, pillow, or quilt. These aren't just orders—they're pieces of someone's story.

One of the hardest parts of this job is hearing the stories.

One of the best parts is hearing them too.

Every piece of clothing has a memory attached to it...

A work shirt worn by mom every day for years.
A fishing trip with dad.
A favorite family vacation with the family.

Those memories of those loved ones they hold are why I take such care with every stitch.

One of the most common things I hear as a memory bear maker is:

"I couldn't bring myself to get rid of their clothes."

For years, those shirts hung in a closet... Folded in a drawer...Packed away in a box...

Not because they're needed.
Because they're loved.

Then one day, those clothes become a pillow, a bear, or a quilt that can be hugged, displayed, and shared with future generations.
