I travel by car often for work so this allows me to bring my standard sized pillow and a few other things that may not fit in my travel bag.
I used all scrap foam from my stash as well as the Rifle Paper Co. “Bon Voyage” fabric charm pack and yardage that has been waiting for a project just like this.
The pattern suggests this as a beach bag for towels or beach toys.
It’s quite large like an IKEA bag, which is what I used to use!

This is the larger size option. I also made the straps for the mat longer incase I upgrade my mat in the future. I chose to skip the vinyl pocket and do both as mesh, I also opted to use a lobster clip for the closure vs the recommended magnet option in the pattern.
