I'm just over here jumping for joy right now. The second round of samples have arrived! This is the very first time that I'll be seeing the designs in the final fabric selections. To say I'm excited is an understatement. Sneak peaks and BTS of the next fitting in the weeks to come.

Meet Sasha. She's the honorary office pup of Wild Ember. Her spirit to explore, rampage in the wilderness, and never ending energy is beyond containable.

Dog booties are her go to accessory for outdoor adventure these days. First, they're adorable and second they're a necessity. She's only 2, but she's had enough vet visits to last a lifetime. The toughness of her paws does not match her large spirit for adventure. So we've adapted and are incredibly thankful that someone invented dog booties, her outdoor armor as we call them :)

Sasha's spirit to explore and her constant curiosity for what's around the corner is something that I admire. She makes any adventure better because that smile says it all - "where else would you rather be than right here today, exploring the unknown?"

Last year when I jumped into the deep end and committed myself to starting Wild Ember I had no idea of all the challenges that would lie ahead. Honestly, if I had known all the things I'd have to navigate, the detours and risks I'd have to take, and the times I'd have to push my comfort zone beyond its limit, I might have said "to hell with it."

But I didn't. I started this company on a belief and desire to create a platform that makes a positive impact socially and environmentally. As the company grows so will the impact we make. For me, that reason alone is enough to endure and push through it all. In preparation for the official launch over the next couple of months those challenging and uncertain times are only going to arise more frequently but I truly believe in the mission and vision of this company. I can't wait to share it with you all.

Samples. Finding fabric for the initial collection of Wild Ember has been a very long process. Technical and eco-friendly fabric are 2 things that typically don't go together. This has always baffled me since a lot of technical fabric is used for outdoor gear. Why wouldn't the gear we use and wear be eco-friendly? Why shouldn't it cause less damage to the wilderness arena that we love to explore so much?

The fashion industry already creates so much waste that I wanted to limit my contribution to that. I was committed to using recycled content while also not compromising on functionality, feel, and durability. This past year I have received, felt, and considered over 200 swatches of fabric for the initial collection. Thankfully, that search has come to an end and each fabric has been carefully selected and curated. Every fabric used in the inaugural collection will have a certified 79% or more recycled content in it. Even more exciting, the inaugural t-shirt will be made out of 100% recycled polyester!

Some people are Winter people, or Spring people, or Summer people ... but for me Fall has it all. It is my absolute favorite time to hike, explore, and see all the beautiful colors nature has to offer. There's something about the crispness in the air, the coziness of the clothes, the warmth of the food, and the grayness of a drizzly day that allow all the colors to shine.
