I wrote this last night. A (little depressing) brain dump of how I’ve been feeling this last week. Maybe some other mamas out there can relate? The days can be hard with littles, but I’m reminded that I’m one of the lucky ones. I get to combat some of the bad with good. I get to bring light to my kid’s lives, and I get to relish in the joy they bring me. 🤍 Sending lots of love to those impacted by the floods in TX. We’re absolutely gutted for you all. 💔

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚
As a parent, mental health is always top of mind - for both my kids and me. I’m constantly curious about how we can support our kids’ emotional well-being—so naturally, I did a deep dive and I found some interesting insights along the way.

Check it out and let us know your thoughts! 💭

The latest lidl in the MM Lidl Co. family made their debut last week. Welcome to the world BIG baby Boden! 🌈

Boden is our second rainbow baby, so it really is not lost on us the gravity of being able to finally hold him in our arms. 💙 Sending lots of love to those out there still waiting on their rainbows. 🤍

Now more than ever, teaching our children about diversity is imperative in breaking biases. What a better month to introduce the topic of diversity than during BHM? Check out the latest Knowledge Drop to learn more about BHM and the intersection of BHM & teaching our children about racism - BEFORE the age of 5! Also scroll to find a great video from our favorite PBS Kids that can be a great aid in any chat you might want to have with your lidls.

Note: This parenting thing is hard and complicated. I’m learning everyday, and sensitive topics, such as diversity is where I often struggle the most with when creating content. But I truly believe we can learn together on how we can raise a more compassionate next generation. What would you add to this topic? What would you change?

This week’s book of the week is “Simone” written by Viet Thanh Nguyen. Originally recommended by my own mother, it’s a picture book about past events that echo many current events the world is currently facing. This inspiring story begins with a little girl, Simone, being woken up by her Mom due to a wildfire near their home. The story weaves in the brave firefighters and incarcerated people fighting the fires, in addition to the large population of Vietnamese Americans who were impacted by the wildfires in Northern California in 2020 - for many, the second time they’ve had to flee their homes from disaster, having been refugees of war. Ultimately, the story centers on Simone using her artistic creativity to comfort herself and other children at the shelter, giving hope to her own generation - acknowledging that they are the future firefighters of the world. It’s a very relevant story given the recent fires in LA, and is great for kiddos 5-9.
