We initially began in Boulder as a handmade leather goods store, making belts, sandals, and handbags among other things - think Easy Rider. That soon morphed into carrying hard to find English and Italian leather goods and then eventually clothing. io Armani, Gianni Versace, Prada in the late 1970s and continued with Ermenegildo Zegna and Hugo Boss in 1980s, and to date Kiton, John Varvatos, Paul Smith, Dries Van Noten, Martin Margiela, Rag and Bone for men among others have all been introduced to our Denver clientele as exclusives. Lawrence Covell is a place where the term client and friend are interchangeable. A relaxed shopping environment devoid of any high pressure arm twisting sales pitch; or sterile run-of-the-mill sales clerk ignoring you. Many of our clients/friends come in to simply catch up while having an espresso, glass of wine or cold beer. Many companies preach the word “service” more as an ad campaign than anything else. We don’t brag about our service because it’s not our style to do so, but guarantee you will be astounded by the experience. We prefer to offer you something very, very special, not only the experience but also clothing that you won’t find in many stores throughout the world, let alone in the Denver market. There is so much sameness out there today which runs counter to our philosophy on taste and style. Your style should be about you. You should dress in a way that distinguishes your personality – not the same as all of your neighbors or co-workers. When you shop here, others will notice how great you are dressed but they won’t know what label you are wearing or what store you bought it at (though they may suspect). We prefer it that way.
