It has been nearly four years since I first opened the doors to my store and studio in Denver. Next week, those doors will open for one final weekend on May 2nd and 3rd.
I am closing this physical space to make room for the next evolution of my career and my life. It is a deeply bittersweet transition. Closing this studio feels like the end of a definitive era, and it has brought up a level of grief I didn’t fully expect. In jewelry, we often talk about the beauty that comes from heat and pressure. I am feeling that heat now, but I am grounded by the excitement of what lies ahead. I know this change is what will catapult me toward exactly where I am meant to be. This change also comes with the deep need to evolve as an artist and to explore the type of work that has been planted in my mind, but not in the physical form yet.
The sweet part of this transition is the fulfillment of a long dream. This fall, I will be moving to Fort Collins to begin my Masters in Fine Arts at Colorado State University. I have been wanting to pursue an MFA for so long and life is finally granting me this wish and with the perfect time to do so, plus all the blessings in the world. I am ready to trade my retail tools for the research and exploration of student life.
While the physical doors in Denver are closing, my hands will not be staying still. I will continue to make jewelry throughout my time in grad school, and my website will remain active for orders and new collections.
I want to extend my deepest thanks to the people who gave me the opportunity to be in this studio in the first place. Thank you to everyone in for opening this space to me and the partners that inspired for so many collaborations to happen.
