My whole life I chased perfection, I thought that was the standard. My new standard is being myself & loving every stage and phase, 10lbs over weight when it occurs or not “having it all together” and NOT looking like I do. It’s not something you really choose as an adult it’s something programmed into you from a young age.

Imani told me 🇯🇵Japan was loving THE JUMPSUIT for his performance w/ in last week…. A moment for sure. ❤️✨🇯🇵🙏🏽 I’ve waited forever, should I drop the process of making this? As you can see the durability is unmatched. It took over 35hrs and 6 hides of lambskin leather. Every detail crafted by hand.

The story behind the Art: Working in the entertainment industry introduced me to people the world envies—celebrities, executives, and cultural icons who appeared to have everything. Fame, wealth, influence, admiration. Yet behind the polished exterior, many carried immense loneliness, anxiety, and pain.

This piece was born from that contradiction.

The gold rope represents the polished image we present to the world: luxury, success, status, and beauty. At first glance it feels elegant, almost celebratory. But as it twists, knots, frays, and unravels across the canvas, it reveals the emotional weight hidden beneath perfection. The red background symbolizes the intensity of what often remains unseen—love, sacrifice, trauma, passion, and wounds that continue to exist behind carefully constructed identities.

Like a beautifully wrapped gift leaking pain from within, this work asks a simple question:

How often do we mistake someone’s appearance for their reality?

This piece is a reminder that every person carries a story beyond what is visible. Sometimes the brightest lives conceal the deepest struggles, and the most beautiful wrapping hides the heaviest burdens.
