Somewhere along the South Platte, one of Colorado’s premier trout fisheries, the cast matters more than the catch. That’s the case at Tumbling River Ranch, where director of guest relations John Collie leads first-timers and lifelong anglers alike into water widely considered some of the best in the world.

We dressed the moment in our White Quarter Horse Pima Cotton shirt and a Golden Gus straw hat, because some scenes call for the right gear and nothing else.
