・・・
It’s snowing outside, and I’d rather be thrifting in the sun instead. 🧵
Here’s a picture of me digging for gold at the pop-up they had last weekend. It’s so inspiring to see all of the different small business taking an initiative to make the fashion world and the physical world a better place. I’ve always had a LOVE for clothing and fashion and have recently been extremely passionate about secondhand scores and thrifting.
Fast fashion is cheaply produced and poorly constructed clothing that is pumped through stores to maximize on current trends.
The result: • 85% of the plastic pollution in the ocean is due to microfibers from synthetic clothing. • 70 million barrels of oil are being used to make the world’s polyester fiber, which is now the most commonly used fiber in clothing. • 20,000 liters of water being used to produce 1 kilogram of cotton.
Hmm. No wonder fast fashion is one of the leading causes of climate change. Learn the facts babes and embrace the movement.
