Happy first day of Fall! 🍂

This is fast becoming one of my favorite seasons (ok ok, they pretty much all are my favorite! 😊) The cooler evenings, all things pumpkin, sweaters, sitting around fires, hot drinks and needing a blanket to keep warm. Any guess what is my favorite blanket? 😉 Definitely a kantha!

So heartbreaking!

This is to the one who wasn't ready. At only 20 years old, it's unbelievable how much you've been through. Forced to drop out of school and marry as a child. Endless abuse and pressure for dowry ending in a failed marriage. Seeking a good job in India only to find yourself locked in a brothel, being r***d and abused for four years before being rescued.🥀 It took eleven months for you to get back to Bangladesh and now you don't fit in anymore. You don't want to wear the modest clothes, follow the rules, learn to sew, join the Basha community. I understand.🌿 The pain and rage must boil inside you. How can you sit quietly, ignore the inner turmoil, trust that you are loved and welcomed. O dear, broken girl, give yourself time to heal. Don't throw yourself back into the destruction that must feel normal. We hate to see you leave. Our door is open should you wish to return. 😖🙏

Tamana is out of ICU! And she's smiling! And she has her mom by her side! 👏‼️🙏 She has again had a high fever and doctors are trying to determine if it's a secondary infection or an autoimmune disease or both.
