Y'all! We are so grateful. We've reached our fundraising goal!!

You've sent a loud and resounding message that Common Love is part of the fabric of Des Moines. And not only that, but that the people of Des Moines show up for the trans, non-binary, and q***r community. Keep this energy as you see other calls for support from fellow q***r/trans led projects and orgs + mutual aid efforts. Des Moines is only as good as we make it.

We've been so touched by the donations rolling in and all the words of support, offers to host benefit shows, fundraisers, and to donate proceeds of sales. While 43 people have gotten us to this $8,760 point, please know we see ALL of you and appreciate how you show up for us. Truly, we are blown away.

THANK YOU! Thank you for supporting this mutual aid project for another year. More to come from us on next steps. We're planning a cutie open house, but no date has been decided. Keep an eye on our socials.

Why this amount?

🏢New location = $600/month for a 12 month lease = $7,200

🛟Insurance requirements = $55/month for 1 yr = $660

📲Additional expense (hotspot/wifi/etc) = unknown amount, but buffering $45/month = $540

We want to keep doing what we do -- showing up month after month, building community with y'all, offering free clothing, hygiene products, personal care products, non-perishable foods, gender affirming products, and community resources. It's our final pop-up at Park Fair Mall, Suite 107, today from 12-2pm! Don't miss this chance to stock up on new wardrobe pieces. Everything is free. We aren't sure when we'll find a new spot, or if we will. So... come by today; we'd love to see you.

Hey friends, we can't wait to see you on Saturday, August 8 from 12-2pm at Park Fair Mall Suite 107!! We received a lot of great donations and you won't want to miss this. We're excited to have Kaitlyn supporting any minor alterations you need, Ashley on voice coaching, and Amber from Prism Therapy to chat all things mental health.

And, while we're excited for next Saturday, this is a hard post to write because yesterday we received an email from Park Fair Mall saying they won't let us stay in Suite 107 past this August 8 pop-up. They've pulled the rug out from under us.

We don't know what will be next. We hope to continue to keep this project alive. Please keep an eye on our social media to learn if/when our next events will be.

So, come hang out on Saturday, August 8 from 12-2pm for our final hoorah in Suite 107. Thank you for all of the support over the years. We had a good three-year run thanks to our partnership with CICIL, who generously let us use their space for free. This was a rare and remarkable gift that we will forever be grateful for. 💕

You got clothes in great condition? We need clothes in great condition!! Our next clothing drive is on July 24 from 6-8pm. Please park outside of the Ace Hardware at Park Fair Mall and we'll be out there with a cart to grab your items. Bring them in garbage bags or cardboard boxes please. We're especially in need of plus size items (2x and above in both masculine and feminine styles). We also would love to have dresses, skirts, jewelry, purses, shoes, bonnets, ties, etc etc. We are extremely low on all items!

Our shopping pop ups (where we do not accept clothing donations) are scheduled for the 2nd Saturday of the month from August - December! New time: 12-2pm, but same great place at Park Fair Mall, Suite 107.

Help us restock for our pop ups! Thank you so much to everyone who donates, shops with us, or gives their time! We appreciate y'all.

We're packing up the supplies tonight to see YOU at the Trans Lives Festival tomorrow, Saturday, June 6 from 10am - 6pm. Come check out the wonderful vendors, music, performances, and so much more. We'll be in the basement with FREEEEE clothes. See you soon!

We're one week away from our first event of June! We'll be slinging free clothes and other goodies around the city all month long. Come say hi and grab something new to wear this summer! We'd love to see you.

We can't wait to see you from 1-3pm today at Park Fair Mall, Suite 107! We've got swimwear, shorts, cleaning supplies, period products, and of course shirts + pants galore. Let's be in community together.

ONE WEEK AWAY! Our last pop-up for the foreseeable future is next Saturday, May 9 from 1-3pm at Park Fair Mall. You'll find new summer items, including swimwear, shorts, and shirts! Everyone is welcome to shop, always. Everything is always free, and we can purchase gender affirming items for you, too!

We're excited to have a fun lineup of guests to support you and bring joy to our May pop up!

🏳️‍⚧️Max (they/he) provides support for those transitioning and can help with binder fittings.

🖍Marlú (they/elle, she/ella) can help you get settled with some tea, crafts, and conversation.

🗣Ashley (she/her) has been a speech and language pathologist for 15 years and has expertise the mechanics of voice. Her goal is to provide tips and techniques for attaining the voice you desire.

📚DSM Pride Center is an inclusive space to access knowledge and experiences that deepen the understanding of LGBTQIA+ history and our community. We're excited to have them join us with books that you can check out and return later to their permanent library at The Mickle Center.

🍪RatRace is a small micro-bakery committed to providing the Des Moines area with creative and classic cookies. Operating with a Pay-What-You-Can business model because they believe everyone deserves a little treat, whether they can afford it or not.

🎨Hunter's Craft Corner will be selling earrings, necklaces, and keychains made from Perler Beads to raise funds for his top surgery. Hunter's been an integral part of the Common Love team and we hope you'll show him some love at the pop up!

In June, you can find us at the Trans Lives Festival on 6/6, People's Pride on 6/20, and Valley Junction Pride on 6/28. We aren't sure what the future holds after that, but we'll be sure to keep you posted.
