Last week I parted with an item from my personal collection and was honestly torn because this shelf is so cute and perfect for plants and trinkets.. but I NEEDED to make room for other treasures!

👉 Today, I got a picture from another satisfied customer and I think this shelf was MADE for her space! From one plant lover to another 🪴

This cabinet started as a Facebook Marketplace find that had GREAT bones… but definitely needed some love! 💞

Instead of buying something brand new, I decided to lean into one of the core values behind Prudence DSM: Reuse, Repurpose, Keep beautiful things in circulation longer!

So here’s what I did:
✨ Removed the doors
✨ Sanded everything down
✨ Added fresh white enamel paint
✨ Cut the bottom down so it would fit the truck space perfectly
✨ Secured it directly into the wheel well for safe travel + shopping
✨ Reinstalled the glass doors
✨ Styled it into a cozy little cabinet of curiosities filled with vintage treasures

😍 One of my favorite details is the room at the top of the cabinet after trimming off the base - this works SO much better than having low shelf space where you might miss a really cool find. And by securing it directly to the wheel-well, I was able to optimize the functionality of the space instead of fighting it.

I also love how the glass doors make it feel light and airy while still giving that old apothecary vibe I was dreaming about for The Goose!

😂 And once again… Papa Craig (my amazing dad) absolutely understood the assignment making sure this thing was SECURE secure for market days!

Honestly, seeing this cabinet go from dusty Marketplace find to one of the statement pieces inside the truck makes me so happy. It perfectly captures what Prudence DSM is all about - giving old things a new story!

😅 Behind every cute little market setup photo is absolute chaos beforehand!

People are always surprised when I tell them I don’t drive The Goose fully staged. Every basket, lamp, vase, and tiny vintage trinket has to be packed up, secured down, transported safely, then styled and arranged once I arrive at an event!

And honestly? Before market setup, The Goose usually looks a little unhinged 😂

There are baskets hanging everywhere, bins stacked, furniture squeezed into every corner, and just enough room left for me to actually drive the truck.

Then somehow… after all the unloading, unpacking, styling, adjusting, and reorganizing… it transforms into this cozy little vintage shopping experience full of texture, color, nostalgia, and tiny treasures!

And at the end of the event? I tear it ALL back down and do it in reverse to head home.. 💪

It’s a ton of work behind the scenes, but every bit of the chaos is worth it because this little orange truck has allowed me to meet amazing people, connect with my community, hear stories and memories tied to vintage finds, create spaces that make people smile and build something that feels authentically me!

The setup may be chaotic… but the joy it creates makes every trip worth it 💞

The evolution of this window space might be one of my favorite parts of The Goose renovation project ✨

When I first got the truck, it was built for food service prep. The service counter covered up several inches of the window, the space felt tight, and honestly… it was hard to picture exactly how it would come together.

But once the counters came out, everything changed!

Suddenly there was NATURAL LIGHT pouring in and the potential of the space really clicked. I decided to lean into creating a cozy sitting nook vibe out of the unavoidable wheel-well.

So we:
🤍 Opened up the window space
🤍 Kept some of the original vintage vinyl details as a nod to the truck’s past life
🤍 Added shelving for curated vintage + reclaimed finds
🤍 Created a sunny little nook that feels warm, welcoming, and full of character

Now this has become one of my favorite details inside The Goose. It’s bright, cozy, and packed with little treasures and stories - which honestly feels so Prudence DSM.

Also shoutout to Papa Craig for making sure those shelves are SECURE secure 😂

So sad about this, this would have been my first time as a vendor there! (but also my heart goes to the hands who make this event happen - it’s no small feat!)

Hopefully we will see you back in 2027 🤞🏻
