Major Jason Watson, an active duty U.S. Air Force officer of 17 years, was arrested July 1, 2026, on the Capitol steps after calling for the impeachment of President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. He delivered a speech accusing them of serious constitutional violations before holding a sign reading “Impeach. Convict. Remove.” Police detained him in an area open to the public but where protests are prohibited.

Arrested in the US for peacefully speaking out against government policies and actions.
