Nayeli was brought to the United States when she was only 4 years old.
This is the only home she has ever known.
She is the mother of six U.S. citizen children. She worked, she survived, she was part of our community. There was no pathway, no opportunity for her to become legal, no matter how long she had been here or how deeply rooted her family was.
Nayeli was punished for selling hotdogs—just trying to provide for her children.
Her detention was brutal. She was released on bond bruised, traumatized, and terrified.
While on her way to court for an alleged “resisting arrest” charge—later reduced to a misdemeanor—she was pulled over and detained by ICE.
Her children have not seen their mother in months.
Now Nayeli has been deported and forced to relocate to a country she has never stepped foot in, while her children remain here—heartbroken, confused, and separated from the only mother they know.
Flights are extremely expensive, and starting over in a country that is foreign to her is not easy—emotionally, physically, or financially.
This family needs help.
They need reunification, stability, and dignity.
