Had a refreshing conversation with last night at the shop, and this morning I couldn't leave the house without grabbing a few books from my personal collection that I know are important to the space and to continuing these conversations.

When we decided back in January that we would do the bookckub, we already knew that we would also use this space to make books accessible to our community. Growing up I loved books, and then when I was in college studying creative writing, philosophy, and pre-law…I knew I couldn't live without books and learning.

Books are art & knowledge is power.

Save The Hood goes beyond just the “hood” and into self. Self healing, self discovery, self love. Hood/community love. Loving yourself enough to see yourself in community.

This deeper concept of discovery is what drives us. Discovering what the 🌎 has to offer, while also discovering what we have to offer the 🌍.

Blaq Graff Tee // Inspired by the OG’s of the underground. The ones who came out at night and threw up the most insane pieces. I was the kid watching from the magazines, tv, and then learning graffiti in Detroit from my cousin and creating my own style of writing out of it. I had already loved art, graff made me love the art of writing. And soon enough, I was tagging my skates and doing full blown pieces on my shoes.
