There's a lot of pressure these days to take sides. To be loud with your viewpoints. To prove that your side is the right side.
☁️☁️☁️
But what about those of us who are still forming their beliefs? Who are willing to admit when we've been wrong, and willing to change? Where do we fit in?
⛅⛅⛅
I am of a growth mindset. Open to new ideas and possibilities. Always striving to improve on who I was yesterday. And with that comes an evolving set of beliefs. At the foundation of those beliefs is Jesus. (I know some of you just mentally checked out, but please allow me to explain.)
🌏🌎🌍
My worldview is shaped by my relationship with God. I have experienced and trust God to help me grow. God is love. And I firmly believe God loves EVERYONE EQUALLY. The immigrant, the LGBTQIA+, the disabled, the orphan, the widow, the sinner and the saint. I am called to love equally as well. Do I always do so perfectly? Of course not! But I will never stop trying.
🌌🌌🌌
And I don't buy into the gimmick that love can constitute shaming someone into repentance. That's not how Jesus operates. We are not equipped to wield HATE. Humans will always misuse their hatred and conflate it with fear. I have no room for hate in my heart. I'm too filled up with love.
💖💖💖
And so, as far as it depends on me, I will always choose LOVE. I choose to not be easily offended. I choose to forgive. I choose to help. I choose to always be growing and learning, not stagnant and bull-headed. I choose LOVE.
