Painted mahogany bedroom set ready for finish. Shop lighting causes the difference in colors.

1940ish mahogany veneer bedroom set, painted with a 1970ish mustard antique glaze. "Antiqueing" was all the rage back in the 70s. Today, they call it "Shabby sheik", aka shabby s**t.

I took the pics after I had stripped the vanity. And yes, that is my mahogany rolltop desk in the background. It MIGHT be done by Christmas...2025.

One might say I have soft spot for roll top desks. I grabbed this solid mahogany gem from a post on Marketplace. I won't say what I paid. You wouldn't believe me if I did. I will say this will end up in the den replacing the oak roll top I currently have.

The wardrobe and bed are complete. I have a potential buyer. If that falls through, they will be for sale.

Two recent aqusitions from Marketplace. Qtr sawn oak fullsize bed with heavy gingerbread, and, a solid oak "knockdown" wardrobe. Both are late 19th century, and both will be for sale...eventually.

A project waiting in the wings is this solid mahogany roll top desk. It needs numerous repairs along with refinishing. This is gonna take awhile.
